Thank you for the
privilege of being elected
Flotilla Vice Commander for
2012. This is my first
experience as an elected officer
and I have much to learn to make
an effective contribution. The
Auxiliary is a welcome home for
patriotic individuals who want
to give back to the country that
has given all of us so much. It
is a privilege to wear the
Auxiliary uniform and represent
the volunteer arm of the U. S.
Coast Guard. The Auxiliary
also provides opportunity to
develop as an individual through
the relationships built and the
training offered. In less than
two years with the Auxiliary, I
have qualified as a crew member,
program visitor, vessel
examiner, and public affairs
specialist 1. I also serve as
Public Affairs Staff Officer for
the flotilla and division.
When you select an area of
personal interest, the Auxiliary
provides you the opportunity for
training, personal growth and
the ability to serve your
community and nation. As your
Flotilla Vice Commander, I want
to be your resource to take down
any barriers you may find in
achieving your own personal
growth plan with the Auxiliary.
While relatively new in the
Auxiliary, I have quickly
learned that if I don’t have the
answer, there is a wealth of
experienced Auxiliary members
that welcome the opportunity to
share their knowledge and help
with any questions you may
experience.
